The gulf consultant represents Aluminum industry in anti-dumping investigation against china
Pursuant to anti-dumping application prepared and filed by the gulf consultant team on behalf of the Gulf aluminum manufacturing companies (United Metal Coating Company UMC and Pargon Industrial Metal Coating Company), the Gulf Investigation Authority (the Bureau Technical Secretariat of anti-injurious practices in international trade in the gulf Cooperation Council) on 16 November 2023 has initiated Anti-dumping investigation against imports to the GCC countries of products (Pre-painted and/or coated Aluminum Coils, sheets, and strips, of Aluminum alloys, of a thickness from 0.2 mm to 8 mm) exported from or originating in the Republic of China.
It is worth mention that the investigation was initiated based on a documented complaint submitted by the Gulf consultant (on behalf of the complaining Gulf industry) to the GCC investigating authority – and in accordance with the provisions of the gulf Unified Law (Regulation) on anti-injurious Practices in International Trade and its Executive Regulations – as a result of dumped imports from China have caused material injury to the Gulf aluminum coils industry ,therefore, leads to the decline of their economic indicators as a result of unfair competition with imports that are supplied at low prices, causing material damage to the industry. This was evident in the decline in the complainant companies’ sales index, their profits, the accumulation of inventory, the decrease in return on investment, etc.
The Gulf consultant had visited the complaining aluminum factories and listened to their complaints about dumped imports. Accordingly, submitted the complaint to the Gulf Investigation Authority (the Bureau Technical Secretariat of anti-injurious practices in international trade in Riyadh) to take a proper procedure to protect the affected Gulf industry in accordance with the related law and trade remedies mechanisms.
