Protection of The Gulf Aluminum Industry Upon the gulf consultant petition

Pursuant to anti-dumping application prepared and filed by the  gulf consultant  team on behalf of the Gulf aluminum manufacturing companies (United Metal Coating Company UMC and Pargon Industrial Metal Coating Company), the Bureau Technical Secretariat of anti-injurious practices in international trade in the  gulf Cooperation Council agreed to imposing Anti-dumping  duties against imports to the GCC countries of products (Pre-painted and/or coated Aluminum Coils, sheets, and strips, of Aluminum alloys, of a thickness from 0.2 mm to 8 mm) exported from or originating in the Republic of China.

It is worth mention that the investigation was initiated based on a documented complaint submitted by the Gulf consultant team (on behalf of the complaining Gulf industry) a result of dumped imports from China have caused material injury to the Gulf aluminum coils industry, therefore, leads to the decline of their economic indicators as a result of unfair competition with imports that are supplied at low prices.

The Gulf consultant institution had visited the complaining aluminum factories and listened to their complaints about dumped imports. Accordingly, submitted the complaint to the Gulf Investigation Authority to take a proper procedure to protect the  Gulf industry in accordance with the related law and trade remedies mechanisms.
